The BFVA Inc. is hosted a Mobile Phone Film Competition in May 2022. Entries were open for narrative or documentary stories centered on the themes of renewal and transformation, shot with smartphones, and inspired by one of the following themes: "In With the New" or "Things that make you go hmm". Sponsored by Caribbean Aerial Photography, entrants had a chance to win $500, selected by the BFVA Board of Directors, and $250 for a People's Choice Award. There were five entrants in the competition:

The films were judged based on Creativity, Scripting, Concept and Camera Work. The BFVA Board 2022 would like to congratulate, Azrael Alleyne, the winner of our first Smartphone Film Competition with the winning prize of $500.
At the close of voting, the People's Choice Award of $250 goes to... Azrael Alleyne.
